Triple ships with three simultaneous shots can be acquired through red power-up units or by recapturing stolen ships. The double ship can shoot two shots simultaneously, but is a bigger target and also leaves players with only one life. The single ship only shoots one shot, but with this configuration players have two lives left. Galaga 88 A spot of remix of the original Galaga with the single screen levels and vertically scrolling variations complete with end of level bosses. Players begin the game with three ships, and can choose to use a single or double ship configuration. The game ends after the final boss is defeated, or when the player's last ship is destroyed or captured. Alien insects fly around the screen to waltz music doing a sort of dance, but will not attack the player ship. At the start of the game, the player can select how many Galaga starships to start with (one or two), affecting their number of remaining lives. The second uses a vertically scrolling screen, with occasionally static screens for enemy boss encounters. Periodically the player encounters Challenging Stages, which are set to music and feature 'dancing' enemies. All of the aliens in the stage must be shot down to proceed. Description Galaga '88 takes the basic gameplay of Galaga and adds higher-quality graphics, triple ship abilities, parsec progression, power-ups, asteroids, bosses and other enhancements. The first involves streams of alien insects flying into the stage with circular or square patterns, then aligning themselves at the top of the screen. The game has three basic types of stages. When this alien type is destroyed, players can collect the captured ship and add it to their current ship for more firepower. Thanks for watching Galaga '88 Galaga '90 The PC Engine Files.
