Elijah’s prayer, recorded in 1 Kings 17-18, reveals a powerful example of the prayers of the righteous. God hears our prayers through the Way He made for us, out of the love He has for us, because of who He is. Yahweh is the source of all righteousness. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.” ( James 5:17-18)Įlijah was an ordinary man with great faith in God. “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Through Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit living in us prays our prayers to God, rendered to accurately express what we actually need, according to God’s will for our lives.
